General
Rules
Pick 5 drivers;
your top 3 point scorers will count for points (not necessarily top 3
finishers).
-You must make your
picks before the green flag. In case of any dispute if no green flag time is
listed, I will work off of the chequered flag time and subtract the total race
time, and this will be compared to the timestamp on the post.
-You can’t pick the
same drivers 2 races in a row (see new rule). If you do, they are scored 0 for
the 2nd race AND cannot be picked the following week. You
may pick fewer than 5 without penalty.
*New Rule from
2019* If a
player picks the winner of a race, they can pick that same driver in the next
race, without penalty.
-You’re picking
drivers, not teams. If a team makes a driver change between races then you can
pick the new driver for that team the following week. You cannot pick the
previous driver in a new team though. Example: You pick driver A who is
driving for team X. During mid week driver B replaces driver A, who then moves
to team Y. You can pick driver B/team X in the following race,
not driver A/team Y.
-Points scored will
be based on the NASCAR point system (2017-2019 version). Drivers who don’t
score points in the Cup Series will still count and be credited with the points
they would’ve gotten. Any points penalties won’t be reflected in the results.
-There will be
tiebreakers for race results, based on the following:
1. Best 4th pick
2. Best 5th
pick
3. Order of
picks
-The point
standings will keep track of your number of starts, wins, top 5’s, top 10’s,
average points per race, average finish position per race and the best single
race finish for the season to that point.
-If you miss a
race, then you’re free to pick whoever you want for the next race you pick in.
There will be bonus
points based on whether any or all of your picks sweep the top positions in the
race:
Race Bonuses:
1-2 finish – 20
points
1-2-3 finish – 30
points
1-2-3-4 finish – 50
points
1-2-3-4-5 finish –
70 points
The
Chase
-There will be a 10
race playoff to determine the championship.
Eligibility:
·
-The top 10
in the standings after 26 races
·
-The person
with the most wins who isn’t among the top 10 in points (minimum 15 starts)
·
-The person
with the highest average points scored per race who isn’t among the top 10 in
points (minimum 15 starts)
·
-The person
with the best average finish who isn’t among the top 10 in points (minimum 15
starts)
-The tiebreaker for
positions in the standings are wins, top 5, top 10, average points, average
finish and best individual race finish.
-The tiebreaker for
the best averages and for most wins is highest position in the standings.
-The Chase people
who qualify by being top 10 in points are eligible for bonus points based
on regular season wins (5 points per win) and their seeding:
- 25
- 18
- 15
- 12
- 10
- 8
- 6
- 4
- 2
- 1
-Those who qualify
based on the best average and the most wins are considered wild cards and
aren’t eligible for any bonus points so they’ll start at 0.
-The wild card
precedence order is:
1. Most wins
2. Best average
points
3. Best average
finish
-This means if the
person with most wins also has the best average points, the person who is 2nd
in average points will receive that wildcard. If one of them is top of best
average finish, that will go to 2nd place. If 2nd place in average finish is
also the other person already holding a wildcard, it will go to 3rd.
-The chase will
feature a participation clause. If any user that has qualified misses 2
races during the chase, they will be removed. The person next on the order of
qualification (determined by average points per race) who has still been active
(max 1 race during chase missed) will replace them, and will be
retroactively awarded the points they would have earned in the chase. I will
keep a tally of who has missed any races in the standings.
Exhibition
Races
-Exhibition races
won’t count towards the overall standings.
-The rule for not
picking the same drivers 2 races in a row doesn’t apply, so you can pick
whoever you want.
-The rest of the
rules and points scored for the Unlimited will be the same as any race. Points
scored in each of the Duels will be cut in half, but the rest of the rules
remain the same; you can pick 5 drivers for EACH race. The points from each
race will be combined to determine an overall winner.
-Points scored for
the Showdown will be cut in half, while they’ll remain the same for the
All Star Race. The rest of the rules remain the same, and the points from each
race will be combined to determine an overall winner. Picks must be made before
the respective race, but you can make blind picks for the Showdown
winner (ex. SD#1), Showdown runner-up (SD#2) and the fan vote winner (ex. FVW)
for the All Star race if you choose.
